I’m a freelance journalist specialising in crime and home affairs.
I started reporting in my home town, Dundee Scotland, before moving south - first to the Daily Record, in Edinburgh, then the Mirror Group in London.
I now freelance for a wide range of newspapers and magazines including:-

THE EVENING STANDARD, THE DAILY AND SUNDAY EXPRESS, THE SUNDAY MIRROR,
THE DAILY AND SUNDAY TELEGRAPH.

are policing, prisons, criminal justice policy, drugs, the security
services and race relations.

innovations in these areas both in Britain and other countries.I also teach journalism in different institutions in London, and online through PRACTICALJOURNALISM.COM
I am also a consultant in specialised media training for senior police officers in various forces and national police training establishments.
